Core Cutting

The core drilling method is a test to determine the in-situ dry density of the soil. It is used only in cohesive, fine-grained soils without stones. The test requires cylindrical core drills approximately 130 mm long and 100 mm in diameter. The bulk density of the soil can be easily calculated using this method.
